We are homeowners once again!! The Friday before Labor Day, we closed on our new home, situated in a lovely neighborhood in the middle of town with lots of mature trees. We are so excited to live in town and be close to everything. We are also excited to be in a neighborhood where we can take walks and ride our bikes safely.
Immediately after we closed, we picked the kids up from school and headed over to the house.

Of course, we had no furniture (or anything, for that matter) in the house yet, but in the back of our van, we had what mattered for that day: swimsuits, pool noodles, sunscreen and towels. All four of us were eager to take a swim in OUR NEW POOL!!!

| Let the fun begin!! |
We spent Labor Day weekend cleaning the house in preparation for our furniture move the following weekend. Of course, after each day of cleaning, we rewarded ourselves with more pool time. The sellers were so kind to leave a sound system with the house. It is wired in and has speakers in the living room, hallway, kitchen and pool deck. We're able to pump up the 80's tunes and have a pool party!

| The kids had fun running, dancing and cartwheeling throughout the house while it was still vacant. |

On Labor Day, we hosted our first official pool party in our new house. We invited friends of ours (who are now really practically neighbors since they live just a couple of minutes away) over to swim and grill out. The kids had so much fun swimming with their friends, and we adults enjoyed swimming, talking and having a few beers.

This last weekend, we had a few college students help us move our furniture in, and as of now, we've officially been living in the house for four days now. We still have lots more to do, and we have more stuff sitting in the rental house that still needs to be moved, but for all intents and purposes, we are home......and we couldn't be happier about it.
