May 13-Day 3 Segovia and Avilla

After two long days of flying and a late night, I began day three with a nice 2 mile jog in a beautiful park behind our hotel in Madrid. After stretching my legs, our group boarded a bus and drove to Segovia (about an hour and a half). Segovia is a beautiful city and has three notable sights. The bus dropped us in front of the Roman aqua duct (Pic 1). We walked under the aqua duct, and through the city to the middle where the Gothic cathedral rests (Pic 2). After a quick glance in the cathedral we continued down to the fortress at the other end of the city (Pic 3). After a thorough tour of the fortress, we were given some free time to work around Segovia and grab a quick bite to eat. We then caught the bus over to Avilla.

In Avilla we received a guided tour of this beautiful walled city. After our tour, we performed our first concert in a refurbished monastery (Pic 4). A group dinner in Avilla followed and we then drove back to Madrid for the night for some much needed rest.
