We spent a lovely day out for our St. Patrick's Day. We had an appointment this morning for Nathan's 4-year pictures at JCPenney in Macon, so we decided to make a day of it. After the pictures, we made a stop at Old Navy to pick out new flip flops to go with our flip flop-worthy weather of late, then headed to Zaxby's for lunch. (For the uninitiated, Zaxby's is a southern fast food specializing in chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, and specialty salads. We always say it's kind of like Chik-Fil-A, but good. :) ) Then it was off to downtown Macon to check out the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Apparently Macon is the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World (who knew?), and this festival is a big event each year. Unfortunately, we didn't see many blossoms (we think our mild winter made them bloom too early for the festival this year), but we had plenty of fun anyway.
Waiting to watch the popular bed races down Cherry Street.

Enjoying a lovely day downtown. 85 degrees and sunny!

Laura used her own allowance money to buy a huge bag of St. Paddy's green cotton candy. She then proceeded to share very nicely with her brother. She's got a big heart, that kid! Here, they are enjoying their snack while watching the frisbee dog competition.

We capped the afternoon off with the all-important carnival rides. Laura's favorite was her solo ride on the Tilt-A-Whirl.

Having a great time on the Clatterpillar!!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone!
