Nathan is 4!!!

Our little man turned 4 last Saturday. It's amazing how fast the time flies. Nathan had a great day. He had a bonus that we aren't used to having; one set of grandparents was around to celebrate with him. We had a mellow morning and afternoon of relaxing and playing, and then we celebrated with a birthday dinner of Nathan's choice, followed by presents and cake.

Feast of choice: pepperoni pizza and corn!

VERY excited to open gifts!

Cool new fire truck and fire truck t-shirt!

He began playing with it immediately! (And he wore the fire truck shirt promptly the next morning.)

Target has the cutest kids' shirts. Animal is Nathan's favorite Muppet. I love this shirt on him! He also got a Kermit t-shirt. :)

The birthday boy requested orange cake with cream cheese frosting. Yum!

Nice, fuzzy new pillow with his name on it.

Another stunt set to add to the ever-growing collection.

"This is cool!!!"

The next morning, he immediately incorporated his new truck into his existing collection.

Watching Dad explain how to use his new Cars Play Doh set (also while wearing his new Cars cap).

By early Sunday afternoon, Daddy had managed to hook together about 4 different Hot Wheels track sets for a stunt extravaganza. I love this picture because Laura looks a little lost amidst the chaos.

We love that our kids are still content to celebrate their birthdays in a low-key, family way. There will be time for the themed birthday parties with friends in the future. Right now, we are just proud of our little man and all that he has learned and continues to learn. We love you, Nathan! You sure do keep our lives entertaining!!
