Last week, we had a little fun in preschool talking about St. Patrick's Day. We enjoyed some projects.
| Yellow lemonade + blue food coloring = cool St. Patrick's Day drink! |
| Nathan approves!! |
| Addition color by number and a shamrock mosaic. |
One project carried on all week, but the payoff was beautiful and quite tasty. We made rainbow Jello, adding new layers each day!
| Beautiful! The kids were SO anxious to try these!! |
Nathan hadn't written a book in a while, so we took the opportunity for him to recap all he'd learned about the holiday in his own book.
| Nathan insisted on simply calling the book "Saint." |
| My favorite page is on the left. The picture is of St. Patrick in a car driving the snakes away. Love this kid! Ha! |
In other news, Nathan is all signed up to join the ranks of kindergartners this August. He is pretty excited, even if it is completely bittersweet for me!
| "Look out, Creekside Elementary! I'm coming soon!!" |
Another great bit of news came today. Laura made the honor roll for the third straight quarter of this school year. We are so glad she enjoys learning so much. It is fun to watch her practice math problems for fun and to write her own original stories. Next up for her at school is her final project of the year for her gifted class, a research project on Namibia for their class study of Africa. Should be interesting!
