Laura's Birthday Fun

Since Cliff had to spend Laura's birthday on Saturday at the football game, we decided to spend Sunday doing fun things to celebrate our 4-year-old. After a relaxing family morning at home, we gave Laura her gifts which included the second installment of Mommy's classic Barbie collection. This year's installment--the Barbie Home & Office and Day-to-Night Barbie (both circa 1987). I absolutely loved this toy and played with it a ton. It has held up incredibly well in storage. Laura loves it and has played with it a ton in the last two days.
After the gifts we went to the Lincoln Children's Museum for the first time. We have a membership there through Laura's preschool, and I am so glad--what a great place for kids! It's 3 stories full of fun and interactive places for kids to engage in pretend play. We had fun exploring the museum and are looking forward to using our membership a lot, especially in those cold, winter months when we can't go outside as much.

Laura liked checking out the Cessna 150--now she just needs her uncle to give her a ride! :-)

Playing in the grocery store area.

Dad wanted her to model the Husker helmet in the Husker football and volleyball area, but she gravitated right to the poms . And no, Mom did not shove them in her hands--she picked them herself!
After the museum, Cliff put the kids in the bike trailer and rode them to the park for a little Daddy & kids afternoon out while I taught a water aerobics class. All in all, a great day!
