It's been a nice week having Laura home from school for her spring break. We have enjoyed the luxury of not having to be up at the horrible hour we normally have to get up on school mornings, and it has given us a taste of our summer mornings in the not-too-distant future. Last weekend, to kick off Laura's spring break, we spent time on Saturday afternoon coloring and decorating Easter eggs together. The kids love doing this!
On Saturday night, Cliff and I celebrated our 11th anniversary with a lovely evening out. We left the kids in the hands of their favorite baby-sitter while we headed downtown for dinner at Aubri Lanes, our favorite local restaurant. After dinner, we took a nice walk around downtown (the weather was fantastic), and then stopped in another restaurant, Amici, for dessert.
On Sunday, the kids were eager to start their Easter egg hunt. Once again, we hid blue and green eggs for Nathan, and pink and purple ones for Laura. This allowed us to make Laura's eggs a little harder to find, and to avoid one person claiming all of the eggs.

As I said, it's been nice to have Laura home this week. She is growing up so quickly, but she still likes a lot of little girl things. She and I even got to spend an entire evening this week dressing Barbies in silly outfits. I love that she still loves to do this stuff. The media and retail stores try to get girls her age to act like preteens already. I'll hold onto the little girl in her as long as she lets me.

Tickling, wrestling, snuggling with Daddy on the couch = happy, little girl.
Laura has a pretty strict dress code for school, so she loves to dress her own way on her days off. On Tuesday, I thought she looked so pretty and grown up, I insisted on taking some pictures of her.

She's getting so tall, and her hair is getting LONG!

Pretty girl.
We will begrudgingly set the alarm for 6am for Monday morning, but it warms my heart to know that more days like the ones we had this week are only 4-5 short weeks away. We can't wait!
