Six Flags, Mother's Day & Strawberry Picking

I had a good Mother's Day weekend.  Since we had a trip to Six Flags scheduled for Sunday, Cliff and the kids went to town on Saturday morning and brought me back breakfast and some beautiful flowers.

We mistakenly thought Mother's Day would be a slow day at Six Flags.  As Cliff said, "Not many moms are cool enough to want to spend their Mother's Day riding coasters."  Boy, were we wrong!  Turns out there are plenty of cool moms!  Despite the crowds, we had a great day.  Since Cliff knew we were going to be gone all day Sunday, he had the florist use part of the flower arrangement to make a hairpiece for me to wear to the park.  What a neat idea!

The hairpiece was beautiful, and it made me feel special.  It even held up after all of our rides.
Cliff let me be in charge for the day, so our first stop was one of my favorite rides, Batman.
Waiting in line for Batman.
We had a great weather, and once again, some brave kids.  Nathan rode Mind Bender, a looping coaster,  for the first time of the season.  Laura braved the new ride, Sky Screamer, a 240-foot tall swing ride that spins at over 40mph.  The tall height didn't seem to phase her one bit!

We ran into Pepe Le Pew!
Today, Cliff, Nathan and I joined several friends of ours for a field trip to Lane's Southern Orchard near Fort Valley, GA.  What a beautiful day and great trip!
Nathan and his friends line up for the slide.
Maddox, Preston, Scout & Nathan wait for the program to start.
Our group is ready to learn about strawberries.
Nathan and his friends listen carefully to learn how strawberries grow and the right way to pick them.
It's time to go out and pick!
Nathan is deep in concentration trying to find good berries.
All done!!
After a picnic lunch, we all had ice cream.

Peach ice cream!
Cliff and Nathan enjoy their ice cream.  Nathan gives it a thumbs-up!
It's been a good few days, but we are tired!!  :)
