Theater Camp

Last week, Laura participated in theater camp at Allied Arts.  The camp was at the same place and with the same instructor, Ms. Ruby, as Nathan's Tiny Act camp, but this camp was a full-day camp designed for older kids.  Laura had a wonderful time.  In addition to their large group activities, the kids worked in small groups to prepare a skit.  Each group had to write their skit, pick their costumes and props and block their scene.  They worked all week, then performed for the parents on Friday. They did a great job!

Laura, Abby, Katie, Sarah and Jackson, ready for their skit as a pioneer family in the 1880's.
We were asked not to take flash photography during the show, so I took a few pictures afterward.
Laura picked this silly hat for the greeting and answer game.
Laura had a good time having an older girl in her small group.  Sarah is a rising 7th grader and was a great role model for Laura all week.  She even braided Laura's hair for her.

Another great camp from Ms. Ruby!
In other news, Nathan has finished his 50-book goal for Summer Reading Club at the library.  He picked up his second set of prizes last Friday.  We're pretty proud of him.  He read all 50 books himself!  This smarty pants's kindergarten teacher is going to have her hands full!
