Cold Doesn't Quite Describe It

If you have been watching the national forecast, then you know what we have been going through out here. We saw temperatures this week of -25 degrees, -30-40 factoring in wind chills. For you southerners, that is ridiculous, even for us. Fortunately, yesterday and today we were above freezing, so a little melting has begun. You know it's bad, when you step outside to get the paper and the 28 degree temperature actually feels warm.

Other than the temperatures, it has been a great week. Laura and Nathan have been interacting a lot more recently. This is mostly due to the fact that Nathan is moving from "cling to mommy" stage to "let's explore the house" stage. Laura plays the role of cop, making sure Nathan is not getting into trouble (i.e. getting into her stuff). They get along pretty well most of the time, but when they don't Gina steps in and referees (I prefer to play the good cop in this scenario).

I am now in full swing of both my spring semester of teaching and my spring semester of 9 credit hours of graduate work. If that seems a little insane to you, it does to me as well. I also completed my second week of training for my summer goal of completing a triathlon. I am biking once a week (this is my strong event) and running and swimming twice a week. I am doing well, but am looking forward to spring when I can run and bike somewhere instead of feeling like a rat on the treadmill/stationary bike.

Gina and I also have finally gotten on Facebook this month. It has been a lot of fun catching up with people we have lost touch with. Though we both agree, it is a little addicting, it warms my heart to talk to high school and college friends that I haven't spoken to in years. If you are on Facebook, feel free to look us up and say hi.

PS. I don't know why the pic turned 90 degrees. I tried several times to fix it but blogger was not cooperating with me.
