Visit to the Mountains

Despite the travel delays we spoke of earlier, we had a wonderful visit with my parents and grandmother over the Christmas Holiday. Events included a brewery tour (and of course a tasting!), dinners out and just hanging out as a family. In fact, it had been three years since my nuclear family (my brother Kevin was also visiting) had been together for any extended time. It was nice catching up and visiting with everyone.

It was also nice to escape the bitter cold and snow of our home. Temperatures at my parents' averaged around 50-55 degrees on most days, so we felt pretty cozy. Of course all good things must come to an end. We caught a very early flight home and left at 57 degrees at 5am and arrived home at 11:00am at 10 degrees. There is something wrong with that. I have to admit that since I lost about 45lbs in 2008, I just can't seem to get warm this winter. I don't mean to complain, but I am constantly cold ! (Skinny, but cold!)
