Stubborn, stubborn boy....

We have noticed on multiple occasions in his 9 months of life that Nathan appears to have a much more stubborn streak than his sister. This first reared its ugly head over the summer during the "nap wars"--the boy just had the hardest time learning to nap in his crib. He would honestly cry for hours (literally, no exaggeration). We did finally win that battle, but his stubborn side now pops up with regard to Mom. I've said before (with affection) that he is a Mama's Boy. But there has been no more shameless display than today. He was having one of those days when he was happy to play with his toys if A. he was in Mommy's lap, B. he was sitting in front of or next to Mommy, or C. Mommy was less than 2 feet away at all times. Well, much to his dismay, I do have another child to take care of. Laura needed me back in her room, so I left Nathan on the living room floor with a billion toys and Dad about 6 inches away from him. Oh, the wrath that incurred!! I was back in Laura's room helping her, when all of a sudden Nathan's heartwrenching wails got louder and louder. Turns out that not long after I left the room, he got so mad at my disappearance that he took off on a cross-house army crawl journey in the direction of my voice. He's never crawled nearly that far at once, but sure enough he showed up in Laura's doorway looking haggard and pathetic. The poor, stubborn little lad.........
